Kyrgyzstan may receive AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine in May

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan may receive AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine in May through COVAX program, National Immunization Center Director Gulbara Ishenapysova told AKIpress on April 14.
Kyrgyzstan was offered 400,000 doses by COVAX program in the first round, she said.
"We are working on this issue. Consumables and the vaccine will arrive in May. All countries are offered AstraZeneca vaccine by COVAX program. Uzbekistan and Tajikistan already received their vaccines. Kyrgyzstan was also allocated AstraZeneca vaccine in the first round," Gulbara Ishenapysova said.
The country may change priorities and select the vaccine in the second round, she explained.
"Equal conditions were for all countries in the first round," she added.
Minister of Health and Social Development Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said Kyrgyzstan will receive 2.6 million doses of coronavirus vaccine through COVAX program.
