AKIPRESS.COM - Several border crossing points will be reopened on Kyrgyz-Uzbek border, State National Security Committee Chairman and chairman of the governmental commission for state border delimitation and demarcation Kamchibek Tashiev said at the meeting with residents of Kurshab rural municipality of Uzgen district, Osh region on April 25.
Several border crossing points will be reopened following the agreements reached between the Presidents of two countries for the purpose of strengthening of bilateral ties.
"First, we reached agreement to reopen a border crossing point in Kara-Suu. Then we will reopen Bekabad point in Atabekov rural municipality, Suzak district. Yntymak Avtodorojnyi will be reopened in Kara-Suu district. Probably, with reopening of this point we will reduce traffic. Besides, we are discussing reopening of Ken-Sai point in Shamaldy-Said on the border with Namangan region of Uzbekistan. Reopening of Seidikum point in Bazar-Korgon district is discussed. Tourists can use it to travel to Arstanbap," Tashiev said.
Kaitpas and Otukchu border crossing points were reopened since April 1. They are used to travel to Sokh distrtict, Ferghana region of Uzbekistan, Tashiev reminded.
The points can be used by cars and minibuses. Trucks won't be allowed to cross the points. "We just reopened border crossing and citizens may travel to Sokh district in order to strengthen friendly ties and unity," Tashiev stated.
