AKIPRESS.COM - Tajik forces attacked five border guard outposts in Kyrgyzstan, the State Border Service of the National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan said.
"From 2.05 p.m., an exchange of fire began in the Golovnoy area between the military units of the sides wounding civilians and servicemen of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Later at about 5 p.m., the Tajik side opened fire at the Kapchigai, Min-Bulak and Dostuk border guard outposts, as well as the Kojogar and Bulak-Bashi posts. As a result of the mortar fire, the building of the Dostuk post in Batken caught fire.
In response to the actions of Tajik law enforcement officers, the special task force Boru of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic seized the Khoja A'llo border guard outpost of Tajikistan.
Additional forces and equipment are being sent to the entire Kyrgyz-Tajik state border from both sides," the statement said.
The situation in the Golovnoy area in the Batken district remains tense.
Earlier, the Isfara-Vorukh road was blocked by citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
