Presidents of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan hold talks in Ashgabat

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held talks in Ashgabat on April 29. Two leaders discussed relevant aspects of bilateral and regional cooperation.
President Mirziyoyev congratulated President Berdimuhamedov with his election as Chairman of People's Council of the Parliament of Turkmenistan.
Bilateral trade between two countries more than tripled, having reached $530 million last year. More than 150 joint ventures were launched.
The sides expressed readiness for further advancement of Ashgabat agreement on creation of international transport and transit corridor and to ensure effective utilization of China-Central Asia-South Caucasus-Turkey multimodal route, continued cooperation in development of transport and logistics infrastructure.
President Mirziyoyev thanked the President of Turkmenistan for his initiative to create Tashkent Park in Ashgabat.
The agreement was reached to hold the meeting of the Uzbek-Turkmen intergovernmental commission for commercial, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation in Tashkent in the nearest time.
