AKIPRESS.COM - The United Nations Organization is following the Kyrgyz-Tajik border situation with concern, Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the Secretary-General, said during a briefing on April 29.
"We are also aware that there has been announcement by the two countries, by Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, that a ceasefire has now been agreed. If that is the case, that would be welcome," he said.
The UN would encourage both sides to continue direct negotiation to resolve any outstanding issues in a peaceful manner, the Deputy Spokesman underscored.
