Kyrgyz-Tajik border gunfire: Houses of local people burned

AKIPRESS.COM - Border guards of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan exchanged fire at night, the Department of Internal Affairs of Batken region told AKIpress in the morning of April 30. Houses of local residents were burnt down. The situation was unstable in the villages of Kulundu, International, Maksat, Jashtyk, Borborduk, Dostuk, and Arka.
Last night the Foreign Ministers of two countries agreed on ceasefire and recalling the military forces from the border areas.
At least 13 Kyrgyzstanis were killed and 134 others were injured in the Kyrgyz-Tajik armed border conflict that took place on April 28-29, the Ministry of Health and Social Development confirmed as of April 30 morning.
