AKIPRESS.COM - Esentur Kubanychbekov from At-Bashi district of Naryn region was killed in the Kyrgyz-Tajik border gunfire on April 29, his brother Amantur Kubanychbek uulu told Turmush. He was only 30. He was the middle child in the family of 3 children.
"My brother was 30 years old. He was not married. On April 12, he left for Batken with 20 soldiers. Esentur served in Naryn and was a commander. He was sending a video on his way to Batken. The last time he was on the phone, he said shooting lasted for five hours. He promised to call me back. At 2 a.m. relatives called me, but they didn't say that he was dead. My friends told me in the morning that my brother died," he said.
Esentur Kubanychbekov was a member of the Boru special-purpose forces unit of the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Three soldiers of the Boru special-purpose detachment of the Border Service of the State National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan were killed in the April 29 clashes with the Tajik side, the press service of the Border Service reported.
22 soldiers were injured to various severity, the condition of two of them is assessed as critical.
Soldier Esentur Kubanychbekov is among the dead, sources said. He was 30 years old. His body will be brought today by a special flight from Batken.
Kyrgyz Border Service said the conflict on the border was provoked by the Tajik side. On April 29, Tajik military troops opened fire on Kyrgyz border outposts and border posts from mortar. The Tajik side also shelled the Tort-Kocho and Chyr-Dobo settlements of the Batken district from the air using a Mi-24 helicopter.
13 Kyrgyz citizens were killed, including a 12-year-old girl. At least 134 Kyrgyzstanis were injured.
