AKIPRESS.COM - First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov discussed the situation at the border with residents of Batken on April 30. Two taskforces have been set up in Batken region administration building. One coordinates the entire situation in the borders every minute.
"We know where and what is going on, everything. Different posts on social media that might appear 2 hours ago, 3 hours ago really fuel the tensions. Everybody is too emotional, the situation is not simple. Yesterday we agreed to reduce tension, recall troops and start negotiations. Let's give a day or two for this job to get done," Novikov said.
The wounded are being transported to the capital. Aid is delivered to Batken.
Novikov thanked the young people who are arriving to Batken from various parts of Kyrgyzstan, but asked them to stay calm, be patient and ignore provocations.
