Kyrgyzstan's death toll in Kyrgyz-Tajik border conflict rises to 15

AKIPRESS.COM - The number of Kyrgyzstanis died as a result of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border conflict reached 15, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development Jalalidin Rahmatullaev told Turmush.
The Deputy Health Minister suggested this figure may grow further since some have very serious injuries.
"We want to transport those with mild injuries to medical facilities in Kyzyl-Kiya, Kadamjai district. Places have been prepared there. This is done to vacate hospital beds in Batken regional hospital for people with possible serious injuries," the Deputy Health Minister said.
65 people remain in Batken regional united hospital now. Some of them are in intensive care unit.
A 90-bed hospital for coronavirus patients was built in Batken last year. 3 coronavirus patients from the hospital were transferred to the infectious diseases department. 90 beds were vacated in case more people with injuries arrive from the conflict zone, Deputy Health Minister Rahmatullaev stated.
43 people with serious injuries were airlifted to Bishkek, he said.
Medical workers are coming from all parts of the country. Two teams of 11 health workers arrived with from Bishkek. 15 medical workers arrived from Osh, 5 from Jalal-Abad, 7 from Talas, the Deputy Health Minister said.
