Japarov and Rahmon discuss Kyrgyz-Tajik border situation

AKIPRESS.COM - President Sadyr Japarov today had a phone conversation with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
The leaders discussed the measures of the soonest de-escalation of tensions on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, the president's press service reported.
Kyrgyzstan intends to address interstate issues via dialogue and to support stable situation on the border, Japarov said.
He expressed confidence mutually beneficial cooperation will further develop.
The heads of state agreed to resolve the crisis in a peaceful manner and to meet in Dushanbe in the second half of May.
The delegations of two countries will hold border talks on May 1 in Batken.
