AKIPRESS.COM - Alijan Tagaibekov died in the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, a resident of Batken Bekbolot Nazhimidinov told Turmush.
Alijan was 31 years old. He lived in Batken town and went to the Golovnoi water distribution facility section to help the villagers.
"He was a leader and an activist. He planned to go to the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. The last time I saw him was at the Golovnoi section. Then I found out he was dead," he said.
The man noted that Alijan Tagaibekov was buried on April 30.
"We went to block the Aksai-Vorukh road. At that moment, it turned out that the mortar shelling began. I learned that 18 people were killed on the spot. Alijan was among them. He was a very kind and understanding person. He was the second child in the family. He had a wife and two sons. We will always remember him," he said.
At least 25 dead bodies of local residents (the exact number is yet to be confirmed) were found near Golovnoi water distributor in Ak-Sai rural municipality, Batken district after mortar shelling by the Tajik side, the Interior Ministry of Kyrgyzstan said.
Mortar shelling occurred on April 29. These 25 victims are among 35 citizens killed in the conflict. A 12-year-old girl from Leilek district also died as a result of shelling.
11 criminal probes were launched in total.
