AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov visited the village of Maksat in Leilek district which came under the armed attack during the Kyrgyz-Tajik clashes.
Japarov met with local residents in the territory of the destroyed school. Japarov pledged that construction and reconstruction work will begin in the village of Maksat and other affected villages from today, and new modern houses will be built in place of the damaged ones. Construction will be completed in 2 months.
Restoration of destroyed social and commercial facilities will be started too, he said.
He said a mobile clinic arrived in Batken region to provide health care. Thanks to the donor project, mobile clinics will visit all regions of the country within the next 5 years and provide free medical services to residents of highlands and remote areas.
In the near future Batken region will be assigned a special status and compensation of 1 million soms will be paid to the families of those killed during the conflict, and assistance will be provided to the affected businessmen, too, Japarov said.
Japarov answered questions of local residents concerning the assistance from the state, the delimitation and demarcation of borders, pensions, restoration of lost documents, rehabilitation of roads, etc. Government agencies and local authorities were given a number of specific instructions after the meeting with local population.
