AKIPRESS.COM - No Tajik citizens were oppressed in the airports of Osh and Bishkek, said the Director of the National Torture Prevention Center Bakyt Rysbekov on May 6 in response to Russian human rights activist Valentina Chupik, who accused the Kyrgyz side of detaining Tajiks at Bishkek and Osh airports. Rysbekov said that the border guards at the airport in Osh were working as usual when checked. No negative or aggressive attitude toward citizens of Tajikistan was recorded at the airports. About 40% of the passengers of the flight arriving in the city of Osh were of a different nationality. No one had any problems going through customs control. Airports work in normal mode, he said.
Rysbekov also asked human rights activist Chupik to provide specific facts as the Center is obliged to prevent cases of abuse and respond to them quickly.
