AKIPRESS.COM - President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon today received the delegation of the World Bank led by Vice President Anna Bjerde, the president's press service reported.
The meeting focused on current cooperation between Tajikistan and the World Bank and its prospects.
Rahman praised the current level of bilateral cooperation, when 100 projects in various sectors for a total of $2.1 billion were financed by the World Bank for 28 years.
The situation in Tajikistan amid coronavirus pandemic, its economic and social implications, cooperation with development partners for containment of coronavirus infection were discussed at hte meeting.
Rahmon expressed hope the World Bank will continue supporting further plans of the government in addressing coronavirus pandemic impact and ensuring sustainable development.
Issues of further cooperation in energy sector, transport, public budget support, entrepreneurship, disaster risk management were considered.
