One law on education and science to replace 6 current laws in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - One law on education and science will replace 6 laws in Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Nurlan Omurov said at the roundtable on on May 20 in Bishkek. Six laws now regulate the education sector, including the laws on education, on primary professional education, on teacher status, on preschool education, on science, on school meals and more than 50 related acts, the Deputy Education Minister said.
"These laws do not meet nowadays requirements," he added.
The proposed draft law will consolidate the existing laws in education secotr and will become the second sector-wide law in the Kyrgyz Republic. The first is the law on National Bank, banks and banking, the Ministry of Education said.
The draft law includes norms in accordance with the Constitution and current requirements, including moral values, norms for creation of production complexes at educational institutions, inclusion of primary and secondary professional education programs into school education, commercialization of scientific and technological developments.
The draft law also included provisions on distance learning and online classes.
The draft law consists of 18 chapters after consolidation of 6 laws. More than 300 articles were cut to 149 articles in the draft lw now.
