Presidents of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan sign several documents

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev has made official visit to Dushanbe upon invitation of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on May 19-20. During the talks the Presidents discussed current bilateral cooperation and its prospects in political, commercial, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres, exchanged views on regional and international issues.
The Presidents reached agreement on creation of joint production ventures, including those in free economic zones, reaffirmed readiness to consider expansion of bilateral cooperation in machine building, railway and other transportation, infrastructure, logistics and other areas. The Presidents signed signing of framework memorandum of cooperation in industry.
The Presidents spoke for increase in agricultural exports and creation of wholesale distribution centers in both countries.
Prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan in digitalization were noted.
The Presidents supported expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties through holding cross days of culture, exhibitions, festivals and other events.
Importance of continued cooperation in migration sphere, regular meetings of the Central Asian leaders was noted.
The sides expressed readiness to advance signing of pentalateral agreement on friendship, good neighborhood and cooperation in the region in the 21st century.
In view of upcoming withdrawal of international coalition forces from Afghanistan in 2021, the Presidents underscored crucial importance of actions to be undertaken by the international community to ensure security, to bring peace and socio-economic reconstruction in Afghanistan.
