AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan's Eduart Kubatov commented on his ascent to the highest point of the earth, Everest Peak (8848 m). "On May 23 at 8:35 a.m. I accomplished my main personal goal in life. Our flag and the Kyrgyz Ak-Kalpak (national hat) were for the first time on Everest, the highest point on earth! I dedicated my ascent to my country! There were a huge number of requests and appeals, but I decided for myself, this victory is only for my country, for my people and my land! I gave everything for that, I'm mentally and physically exhausted, but I did it, and I knew that my fellow citizens were waiting for it! I hug everyone, I live and fight for you!" he wrote on his social networking site.
Kubatov became the second Kyrgyz to climb Everest. The first was climber Dmitry Grekov who climbed the mount in 1997.
The organizers of the Everest-Lhotse 2021 expedition officially informed that Eduard Kubatov is the first ethnic Kyrgyz who has climbed Everest.
