Kyrgyz filmmaker Sadyk Sher-Niyaz receives Order of Friendship of Peoples from Kazakh President

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyz filmmaker Sadyk Sher-Niyaz received the Order of Friendship of Peoples from Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on May 25 in Bishkek.
Kazakh Ambassador Rapil Zhoshybayev presented the order. He mentioned that President Tokayev highly appreciated film Kurmanjan Datka by Sadyk Sher-Niyaz and with this award he stressed the importance of this historical film and the role of Sadyk Sher-Niyaz in modern Kyrgyz culture.
The event was attended by Minister of Culture Kairat Imanaliev, Kazakh Ambassador Rapil Zhoshybayev, philanthropist Askar Salymbekov, state and public figure, former Chairman of the Supreme Council of Kyrgyzstan Medet Sherimkulov, film directors Gennady Bazarov, Temir Birnazarov, Ernst Abdyjaparov, Dalmira Tilepbergen, and other cultural people.
The Order of Friendship of Peoples state award was established in 1995 and is awarded to those who contributed to strengthening interethnic friendship, peace and harmony.
