AKIPRESS.COM - During the meeting of the parliament committee on economic and fiscal policy on May 25 MP Dastan Bekeshev said that the situation with the coronovirus did not teach us anything. He said the situation should have been a lesson for many, but it wasn't.
"In times of crisis, we were supposed to save money, but we didn't. Funds are allocated to maintain the state media annually, about 600 million soms. More than 800 million soms are allocated annually to protect the President, and his office," he said.
"Black July [July 2020 when the first wave of coronavirus in Kyrgyzstan peaked taking many lives] was supposed to teach us something, but it did not," he said.
The MPs heard information from the Cabinet of Ministers on the implementation of the resolution of the parliament dated April 1, 2020 on measures to reduce the negative socio-economic impact due to currency inflation and the spread of coronavirus infection.
