Kyrgyz Medical Academy protests against cancellation of Rector's elections

AKIPRESS.COM - An action in protest against cancellation of elections of the Rector is held today in the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy in Bishkek.
Faculty and students collect signatures in protest against cancellation of the elections.
The elections of the Rector of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy were scheduled for May 29 earlier. Four candidates bid for the Rector's post, including current Rector Dr. Prof. Indira Kudaibergenova.
Candidates met with their electors and presented their programs. The number of voters make around 800, including academics, corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences, Chairs of Departments and heads of divisions of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy.
The elections of the Rector were canceled by newly appointed State Secretary of Minister of Education and Science Kalysbek Shadykhanov.
