Batken governor, Sughd head agree not to deploy military forces on border

AKIPRESS.COM - On June 4, Batken region governor Abdikarim Alimbayev had a telephone conversation with Rajobboy Ahmadzoda, chairman of Tajikistan's Sughd region. They discussed issues of ensuring public security in the border areas, strengthening of joint patrols and the work of checkpoints and conducting awareness raising work with the population in order to prevent panic.
Alimbayev and Ahmadzoda also agreed not to deploy any military forces on the border.
Heads of Batken and Isfara districts and heads of Leilek and Gafurov districts conducted meetings.
