President Japarov asks Parliament to urgently consider bills on court reforms

AKIPRESS.COM - President Sadyr Japarov has asked the Parliament to consider the package on court system reform at extraordinary session.
A package of bills will be submitted to the Parliament in the nearest time, including the bills on the Supreme and local courts, Constitutional Court, status of judges, Judicial Council and other, President Japarov said at the first meeting of the Council on Improvement of Work of Courts and Law Enforcement Agencies on June 7.
"The Parliament plays a big role in court system reform," he said.
Several additions and amendments aimed at protection of rights of citizens should be introduced, the President added.
"For instance, each citizen should be provided with qualified legal assistance, the mechanisms against use of tortures should be foreseen, openness of courts and law enforcement agencies should be ensured, the President said.
"Attitude of citizens to court system should change as a result of the court reform," Japarov said.
