Kyrgyz Health Ministry plans to procure Sputnik V and Sinopharm vaccines

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Health plans to buy Sputnik V and Sinopharm coronavirus vaccines, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development Uluk-Bek Bekturganov said at the meeting of the Parliament Committee for International Affairs, Defense and Security.
The World Bank provides $20 million grant and loan to Kyrgyzstan for COVID-19 response. Vaccines approved by WHO will be purchased for $17 million.
"If WHO approves Sputnik V, then a part of funds will be spent for procurement of Sputnik V and another part for Sinopharm," the Deputy Minister of Health said.
When asked by parliamentarians, the Deputy Health Minister said he was vaccinated with Sinopharm and has a high titer of antibodies.
