Modern police station opens in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - A new police station was inaugurated in the Ala-Too square, the Interior Ministry press service reported. The opening ceremony was held on June 18 with Interior Minister Ulan Niyazbekov, his deputy Oktyabr Urmambetov, the head of the Bishkek City Police Department Azamat Nogoibayev, and the chairman of the Public Council of the Interior Ministry Yalkun Dautov in attendance.
The previous police post was destroyed during the October 5-6, 2020 riots. This police station was overhauled with new premises meeting modern requirements of the police service, where conditions were created to receive citizens and visitors to the capital, ensure public safety and provide timely assistance to citizens.
More such modern police stations will be opened in recreation zones, central parts of the city, parks and crowded places.
As part of the opening ceremony, tourist police received 10 electric bikes bought on sponsor funds. At the end of the event, police officers went to their duty stations on the new electric bikes.
