AKIPRESS.COM - Government does not have a clear plan to address budget deficit issue when there is almost 10% inflation and a negative trade balance in the country, said MP Natalia Nikitenko during the parliament session Friday.
According to the World Bank, 20% of the population fell below the poverty line in 2020, and this year due to the pandemic, 35% of the population will fall below the poverty line.
"At the conditions of lack of time, what is the government's plan of action? How to make a breakthrough out of a budget deficit and allocate funds, for example, to maintain the bureaucratic apparatus, to then pour those funds into the energy industry. I do not see any such proposals. You are offering to increase the electricity tariff, but you realize really well that will not solve the problem of the industry," he said.
