AKIPRESS.COM - Supporters of the former deputy head of the Presidential Administration, Almambet Saliev, gathered in the Pervomai district court on June 18. Saliev was detained on June 16 on suspicion of illegal wealth gaining during his tenure in the post of deputy head of the Presidential Administration. He was taken to the pre-trial detention facility of the National Security Committee.
About 30 people are waiting for Saliev to be brought to court, which will sentence Saliev.
Supporters are demanding his release.
Saliev denies any wrongdoing, his lawyer Jyrgalbek Babayev told journalists.
State National Security Committee said that Saliev, under ex-President's protection, actively interfered in the work of the judiciary, law enforcement, and state bodies lobbying the interests of private structures damaging state interests.
"All accusations are groundless. There is not a single judge or law enforcement officer who would testify against him," lawyer said.
