AKIPRESS.COM - The first batch of 50 gas-fired Isuzu buses from Uzbekistan arrived in Bishkek, acting mayor of Bishkek, Baktybek Kudaibergenov, said. He reminded of recent strike of drivers of public vans. "This problem did not appear just now, it has been developing for years," he said.
Bishkek has 100 buses and 140 trolleybuses, which is not enough. About 1,000 buses and trolleybuses are needed to fully provide public transport, Kudaibergenov said.
He said that the mayor's office has no opportunity to purchase buses from the budget, so investments were attracted.
