Rahmon and Mirziyoyev discuss regional security situation

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed regional security issues in connection with the situation in Afghanistan.
The two leaders took a note of the situation in northern and north-eastern provinces of Afghanistan bordering with Tajikistan and described the situation along the Afghan border with Tajikistan as tense, the Tajik president's press service reported.
Rahmon and Mirziyoyev agreed to continue the joint efforts on support of intra-Afghan peaceful process and facilitation of bringing peace, stability and security to Afghanistan.
The Presidents expressed readiness to further coordinate actions in this regard.
The two leaders also discussed bilateral relations, praised the outcomes of the recent talks in Dushanbe during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Tajikistan.
