Presidents of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan discuss situation in Afghanistan

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a phone conversation with President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev.
The Presidents exchanged views on outcomes of the recent official visit of President Tokayev to Tajikistan and highly regarded the agreements reached during talks in Dushanbe.
The President then discussed the current situation in Afghanistan, noting importance of all possible assistance to practical launch of intra-Afghan negotiation process.
The Presidents expressed concerns about sudden escalation of situation in northern and north-eastern parts of Aghanistan affecting regional security situation.
Importance of continued close coordination of actions between line agencies of two countries and multilateral cooperation was underscored in this regard.
The sides also exchanged views on some aspects of bilateral cooperation, relevant international and regional issues.
