Kyrgyzstan to conduct 3rd stage of Covid-19 seroprevalence study

AKIPRESS.COM - The third stage of COVID-19 seroprevalence study will be conducted in Kyrgyzstan, Director of the National Viral Infections Control Center Zuridin Nurmatov told a press conference on June 25 in Bishkek.
The seroprevalence study will be conducted in each district, he said.
"10,752 people will participate in the study, at least 2688 people from 4 regions (Osh and Batken are first region, Chui and Issyk-Kul are second region, Jalal-Abad and Talas are third region, Bishkek is the fourth region) with equal distribution of volunteers by districts, age and sex," he said.
People with COVID-19 will be excluded, he added.
The second stage of the study was completed in spring 2021. The study found 71.2% of population have Covid-19 antibodies.
The lowest rate was found in Bishkek - 63%, the highest rate was in Talas - 77% and Osh - 76%, Zudirin Nurmatov said in May.
