$500m withdrawn from Kumtor in 2017. Atambayev and Isakov will be given legal assessment: Tashiev

AKIPRESS.COM - $500 million were withdrawn from Kumtor Gold Company JSC in 2017 pretending to be a loan with further registration as payment of dividends, said National Security Committee chief Kamchybek Tashiev on July 8. "Half a billion dollars was taken out of Kumtor, literally stolen. It was proven. We are working on identifying all the persons involved," he said.
"We will give a legal assessment to ex-President Almazbek Atambayev, ex-PM Sapar Isakov, and former officials from relevant ministries, agencies, Kumtor Gold Company and Centerra," he said.
Similar situation took place in 2012 when Dilger Japarov was president of Kyrgyzaltyn, he was convicted and served his sentence.
