AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan is not considering re-accession into the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Uzbek President's press secretary Sherzod Asadov said.
Asadov underscored the official Tashkent has not received the respective invitation from CSTO member states.
Besides, the law bans creation of military bases and accession into such organizations, Asadov added.
Uzbekistan quitted CSTO in 2021. The Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan explained the move with disagreement with CSTO plans on Afghanistan. Tashkent did not like strengthening of military cooperation between CSTO member states either. Uzbekistan left CSTO in 1999, but reinstated its membership in 2006.
