AKIPRESS.COM - The Central Asian Foreign Ministers and the Homeland Security Advisor for U.S. President Joe Biden held a meeting in the framework of the International Conference "Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities" on July 15 in Tashkent.
The meeting was attended by Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister Muhtar Tleuberdi, Tajikistan's Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Nuran Niyazaliev, and U.S. President's Homeland Security Advisor Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall.
The attendees of the meeting discussed the ways of bringing peace to Afghanistan.
The United States pays a big attention to cooperation with the countries of the region in bringing peace to Afghanistan. Security in the region, fight against terrorism and prolifieration of drugs meet common interests of all countries participating in the meeting, Eliazabeth Sherwood-Randall said.
