Bishkek, May 8, 2019. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov received today Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Nikolay Udovichenko.
President Jeenbekov expressed condolences in connection with the plane crash at Sheremetyevo airport, the Kyrgyz President’s press service reported.
"We mourn together with the people of Russia," said Jeenbekov.
"We are meeting on the eve of a great holiday - the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Our fathers and grandfathers showed heroism, inflexible will, readiness for self-sacrifice and endless love for the Motherland. One of the clearest examples of the fact that our peoples are united by a feeling of great pride in the heroic feat of front-line soldiers and home front workers is the action "Immortal Regiment". In Kyrgyzstan, tens of thousands of citizens take part in this glorious event every year, this year traditionally this action will take place throughout our country," the president said.
Ambassador Udovichenko conveyed to Jeenbekov congratulations of Russian President Vladimir Putin on Victory Day.
He briefly spoke about the work being done as an ambassador, in which he visits the regions of the republic, and noted that he would make every effort to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Jeenbekov and Udovichenko exchanged views on the implementation of the agreements reached following the state visit of President Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan, the events in the framework of the upcoming SCO Summit in Bishkek.
