President Jeenbekov meets with Chairman of State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin

Bishkek, May 20, 2019. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met on May 20 with Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assemby of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin who have arrived in Kyrgyzstan to take part in a meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
"Cooperation with Russia is particularly important for us because of our alliance and strategic partnership. Each meeting with Russian friends makes an additional contribution to the deepening and expansion of mutually beneficial partnership between our countries. At the same time, this is a good opportunity to discuss the accumulated topical issues of bilateral and multilateral relations," Sooronbay Jeenbekov said.
He also emphasized the high level of inter-parliamentary cooperation and noted with the gratitude that a law was adopted allowing Kyrgyz citizens in Russia to work on the basis of national driving licenses in 2017 with the direct support of Vyacheslav Volodin.
The head of state reminded that following Vladimir Putin’s state visit to Kyrgyzstan contracts worth more than $ 6 billion were signed.
"It is important to fully implement the reached agreements. We have also declared 2020 as the Cross Years of Kyrgyzstan and Russia," the President said.
Volodin convoyed the words of greetings and good wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin and noted that Russia and Kyrgyzstan are strategic partners that are also united by the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which emphasizes the level of trust.
Jeenbekov conveyed his best wishes to Putin and wished the entire delegation of the Russian Federation success, fruitful work and a pleasant stay in Kyrgyzstan.
