Former chief of state guard service held in one cell with ex-law enforcement employees

AKIPRESS.COM - Representatives of the National Torture Prevention Center visited the remand prison #1 in Bishkek, where ex-head of the 9th service of the National Security Committee Damir Musakeyev is being held, Director of the Center Nurdin Sulaimanov said.
Musakeyev is being held in one cell together with former employees of law enforcement bodies, he said.
"He does not have any complaints against police officers, prison staff, and conditions of his detention," he said.
Musakeyev has earlier been sentenced to 5 years.
Musakeyev is accused of power abuse in distribution of official apartments of the State National Security Committee violating the turn and giving preference to those close to him. 15 apartments were reportedly provided in such way, including 3 apartments to the officers, who already obtained apartments. Damir Musakeyev used to be a bodyguard of ex-President Almazbek Atambayev.
