Bishkek, June 4, 2019. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov on June 4 received the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Representative in Kyrgyzstan Yukie Mokuo on the occasion of her mission’s completion in the country.
Jeenbekov noted with satisfaction the fruitful cooperation with the organization to support the efforts of the state to protect children, the President’s press service reported.
The President stressed that Kyrgyzstan remains committed to the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and noted the determination of all branches of government to achieve further stable development of the state, including the improvement of the situation of children.
The head of state noted the reduction of maternal mortality by 25%, reduction of child poverty and elimination of child depletion as priorities.
"Every child in Kyrgyzstan should live and develop in a family environment. The state will make every effort to form a society with healthy and educated children, which will be the basis for the country's future development," Jeenbekov said.
The Kyrgyz leader expressed gratitude to the UNICEF for the joint implementation of the Tumar national campaign aimed at protecting children from violence, which was launched on June 1 this year.
The UNICEF representative in Kyrgyzstan expressed gratitude for the meeting, noting that she was very pleased to carry out her mission in the country together with representatives of the state authorities, with whom she had cooperated fruitfully over the years.
She noted with satisfaction that Kyrgyzstan understood the nature of issues related to the protection of children and women, and that the representation of women in the country's key public authorities responsible for decisions on the protection of women's and children's rights helps to ensure the successful implementation of state policy in this regard.
Jeenbekov wished Yukie Mokuo success and expressed gratitude for the fruitful cooperation.
