Jeenbekov: We must strengthen work on preservation and respect for nature

Bishkek, June 5, 2019. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov congratulated the country’s ecologists on their professional holiday-World Environment Day.
The press service of the President reported that in his congratulation message the head of state congratulating country’s ecologists said that environmental issues in recent years are among the priority issues discussed on the international agenda.
He said that a growing number of countries are actively implementing green economy principles based on respect for the environment, renewable energy and the sustainable use of natural resources.
The Kyrgyz Republic is increasingly involved in the activities of the international community to contain global environmental threats.
"We, as a country with ecologically clean products and ecotourism, should strengthen our work on preservation and respect for nature. We will face major challenges in improving the environmental situation," the President said.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted the need to reform environmental laws and regulations, introduce green economy principles, manage water resources rationally, expand green spaces, develop waste management and recycling infrastructure, and encourage the use of alternative and clean energy sources.
The Kyrgyz leader congratulated the country’s ecologists on World Environment Day and wished health, success in their work and well-being.
