Bishkek, June 6, 2019. /Kabar/. About 20 outcome documents, which are planned to be signed during the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) heads of state, are being worked out to date, Head of the foreign policy department of the President’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Sydykov told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
"As part of the current chairmanship more than 60 meetings have already been held at the expert and ministerial levels, both in Kyrgyzstan and in the SCO member states. Meetings of the secretaries of the Security Councils, defense ministers, foreign ministers and other major events such as the media forum, international marathon and business forum were held during the first half of this year. Holding an international gala concert and the SCO art exhibition are planned on June 13," he said.
"We're ready to receive our distinguished guests. The Bishkek Declaration and other documents on cooperation in various fields are among the final documents which are being worked out," Sydykov told.
The meeting itself will be attended by the heads of Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan. In addition, the SCO secretary general and the director of the executive committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure will participate. The Presidents of Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran and Mongolia are expected to participate from the observer states.
"Besides, the leadership of a number of international organizations is invited. During the meeting the leaders will consider the implementation of the results of the SCO Qingdao Summit 2018 and the priority tasks of further development of the SCO in the context of the current processes in world politics and economy. Russia, China and India have provided support to Kyrgyzstan to organize the SCO summit," he added.
Daniyar Sydykov noted that over the 18 years of its activity, the SCO has taken a worthy place among the reputable international organizations and has become an important factor in ensuring security and sustainable development of interstate relations.
