Putin, Erdogan congratulate Tokayev on landslide election win

AKIPRESS.COM - Presidents of Russia and Turkey congratulated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on landslide victory in the snap presidential election on June 9, Acorda press service reports. The congratulatory letter of President Vladimir Putin was conveyed by Ambassador of Russia in Kazakhstan Aleksey Borodavkin during the meeting with the newly elected President Tokayev.
The Russian President called Tokayev's victory in the vote true. Putin expressed his readiness to develop further cooperation of Russia and Kasakhstan.
The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his letter says that he has no doubt that Tokayev will continue strengthening consent and stability, contribute to ensuring peace and international security.
The snap presidential election in Kazakhstan ended on June 9 with the election turnout of 77.4%. Interim president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev won the election with 70.76% of vote.
