Bishkek, June 14, 2019. /Кабар/. The meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was held in Bishkek under the chairmanship of Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
The SCO heads of state Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kazakhstan President Kassym-Joomart Tokayev, Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Presidents of Russia Vladimir Putin, Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon, Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the meeting.
Presidents of the observer states, Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga, Afghanistan Ashraf Gani Ahmadzai and Iran Hassan Rouhani also participated in the meeting.
Besides, the SCO Secretary General Vladimir Norov, Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) Jumakhon Giyosov, UN Deputy Secretary General Rosemary Dicarlo, Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Lebedev, Acting Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Valery Semerikov, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan, UN Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian Partnerships in the Middle East and Central Asia Rashid Khalikov attended the meeting.
The chairmanship in the SCO has passed from Kyrgyzstan to the Russian Federation, and the next SCO Summit will be held in Russia in 2020.
