President of Turkmenistan appoints son as governor of Ahal region

AKIPRESS.COM - The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov appointed his son, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as governor of Ahal region, official Turkmen media report. Previously, Serdar Berdimuhamedov was a deputy governor of this region.
The former governor of the region, Shohrat Amangeldiyev, was dismissed in connection with the new appointment.
Hodjageldi Hodjageldiyev was appointed a deputy governor of the region.
Ahal is one of the regions of Turkmenistan. It is in the south-center of the country, bordering Iran and Afghanistan along the Kopet Dag Range.
