6 accusations remain in conclusion of special commission on Atambayev's immunity

AKIPRESS.COM - Almazbek Atambayev "by using all branches of power in his own interests, created organized crime groups, suppressed and prosecuted MPs, judges, and journalists opposing his regime" during his tenure as President of Kyrgyzstan, said chairman of the special commission of parliament to strip Atambayev of his immunity Kanibek Imanaliyev on June 18.
Special commission has come to conclusion that 6 out 9 accusations brought by the commission have grounds for suspecting Atambayev of serious crimes and law enforcement bodies should check those 6 accusations. The remaining 3 accusations are not related to Atambayev's presidency and cannot be considered by the special commission, he noted.
Besides aforementioned accusation, Atambayev is also accused by the commission of obtaining a land plot in Koi-Tash village, where his house was built, illegally; releasing illegally crime boss Aziz Batukayev from prison; hiding his income; corruption in modernization of the Bishkek CHPP; and illegally delivering coal to the CHPP.
The conclusion was submitted to 2 parliament commissions for consideration.
