More than 500 convicts released in 2019- SSPE

Bishkek, July 19, 2019. /Kabar/. More than 500 convicts were already released in 2019, Cholpon Omurakunova, the Chairwoman of the Social Council of the Kyrgyz State Service for Execution of Punishments told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
According to her data, since the beginning of this year, the courts have been sent submissions on the revision of criminal cases regarding 8 thousand 590 convicted prisoners, who are serving sentences of imprisonment.
"To date, the courts have considered 7 thousand 92 submissions. As a result, 570 people were released from prison, while 3 thousand 100 people were left without change in their sentences, 721 people were denied a review of criminal cases, while previously imposed sentences of 2 thousand 701 prisoners were changed, of whom 421 were previously granted amnesty," the chairwoman said.
She also added that to date, the results of the criminal case reviews of 1 thousand 498 convicted persons had not yet been received.
