Bishkek, July 30, 2019. /Kabar/. An annual plein air painting for students of art universities of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Baltic States and Georgia will be held in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism reported.
From July 31 to August 8, a large group of young people and their mentors will travel, get acquainted with the republic and paint in the vicinity of Issyk-Kul Lake.
The aim of the project is to find approaches for further interaction of the artistic intelligency of the CIS countries, strengthening of creative and personal contacts, education of tolerance and involvement of youth in the process of intercultural dialogue.
The organizers of the large-scale project are the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Public Fund for Support of Creative Initiatives with the financial support of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.
Damira Alyshbaeva, Head of the Department of Culture, Art and Professional Education Development of the Culture Ministry is the author of the project. Under her leadership the nomadic plein-air of young painters is held annually.
More than 200 students participated and about 900 works were created, three large exhibitions were organized over the course of the project . The current master class will continue this tradition and ends with an exhibition of works by young artists from the CIS countries. Young artists from Estonia joined the project this year, they will visit Kyrgyzstan for the first time.
En plein air (or plein air painting) is the act of painting outdoors. This method contrasts with studio painting or academic rules that might create a predetermined look.
