President: Atambayev was a witness, but he is defendant now

President Sooronbai Jeenbekov of Kyrgyzstan came to extraordinary meeting of the Parliament.
He expressed condolences to the family of the deceased soldier of Alpha special forces.
"Unfortunately, we lost our fighter. I express my condolences to his family and relatives. It turns out that he is the son of our compatriot Okmot Mamaeva, with whom I recently met at a forum of compatriots," the head of state said.
He noted that Atambayev, using weapons, grossly violated the laws of the country and left the legal field.
"A criminal case has been opened, all the perpetrators of yesterday's event will be punished. Atambayev demonstrated his non-recognition of the norms of laws and the Constitution. If he was previously summoned for questioning as a witness, now he will be accused of committing a serious crime," Sooronbai Jeenbekov added.
