Bishkek, Aug.9, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov today, Aug.9 met with Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, who has arrived in Kyrgyzstan for participation in the session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
Jeenbekov noted that he warmly recalls the talks and meetings with Dmitry Medvedev when he served as Prime Minister, the press service of the Kyrgyz President reported.
He noted that Vladimir Putin's state visit to Kyrgyzstan in March of this year was successful, confirming that the Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation acquires active dynamics and is filled with concrete content.
Medvedev said he is pleased to visit Kyrgyzstan again, namely his pearl- Issyk-Kul Lake.
"I've been here, but I'm amazed at the beauty of this place every time. There are good conditions for discussing our bilateral relations, as well as for holding a meeting of the heads of government of the Eurasian Union member states. As far as possible, we try to provide assistance and support to our friend and partner, Kyrgyzstan," Medvedev said.
He conveyed greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin to Jeenbekov, and added that before the visit they discussed the relations between the two countries.
"I am sure that today's meeting will contribute to the development of a comprehensive partnership between our countries," the Russian prime minister stressed.
Jeenbekov and Medvedev discussed the prospects of trade and economic cooperation, the implementation of agreements, reached during Vladimir Putin's state visit to Kyrgyzstan, as well as issues related to the organization and conduct of events within the framework of the declared cross year 2020 in the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation and the Russian Federation in Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council with the participation of the heads of government of the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union will be held today, Aug. 9, 2019 in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul Oblast.
