AKIPRESS.COM - A 5-year Agro Horizon Project of USAID came to an end today in 4 regions of Kyrgyzstan, Turmush reports. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the government, USAID and project partners.
According to Director of USAID's Economic Development Office Gary Shu, the project provided new market opportunities for more than 60,000 farmers. It also helped establish cooperation with more than 50 agro plants that invested $66 million in agricultural sector.
As part of the project, 1,400 jobs were created in Osh, Jalal-Abad, Batken and Naryn regions.
The farmers received access to the financing in the amount of $40 million, the USAID representative noted.
The project was launched in 2014.
