Ex-mayor of Bishkek Albek Ibraimov summoned to financial police as witness

AKIPRESS.COM - The Lenin district court of Bishkek on August 28 continued the process on the case of ex-mayors Kubanychbek Kulmatov and Albek Ibraimov. As hearing started, attorney Sergey Slesarev protested against the actions of the judge and the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes. He claimed that Albek Ibraimov on August 27 was delivered to the financial police for interrogation as a witness without notifying neither defendant, nor attorney.
"The financial police sent a letter to the court with the request to question my client as a witness on a certain case, which they have. However, the judge gave a permit without notifying neither Ibraimov, nor me, although they must do it. As a result, Ibraimov was taken away from the reman prison. He and me were informed only after it happened," Slesarev noted.
According to the attorney, Ibraimov refused to answer and the next interrogation is scheduled for August 29.
The court hearing was postponed to August 30 due to the absence of one of the attorneys.
