Bishkek, Sept.10, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan will join the Let’s Do It! World global environmental movement, Eco Demi Public Foundation Chairwoman Aizhan Chynybayeva told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
She said on Sept. 21, as part of World Cleanup Day, Kyrgyzstan will host a Saturday clean-up day with the participation of thousands of volunteers.
Chynybayeva noted that the World Campaign for Cleaning the Planet from the spontaneous accumulation of garbage in places of public use, as well as on the territory of natural parks and reservoirs will be held simultaneously in more than 150 countries.
Let's Do It! World is a global civic movement that started from Estonia, asking people worldwide to join a series of local, national and regional clean-up events. Among other projects, it is the founder of World Cleanup Day.
Today, the movement has grown into a network of 113 countries. All together, 14 million participants have been engaged in movement's activities.
"World Cleanup Day is designed to draw public attention to the environmental situation in the country and in the world. Activists call on citizens not only to join the clean-up day, but also to think about the constant preservation of cleanliness in public places, about the reasonable consumption of resources and their proper disposal," the press conference participants noted.
The official country partner of the Let’s Do It! World global movement is the Eco Demi Public Foundation. The campaign is supported by the Offices of President of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Government, public organizations, state and commercial structures.
"Our activities are not limited to such actions. The Foundation has also initiated educational projects, aimed at informing the public about the dangers of garbage, the vital need to take care of nature and responsible attitude to consumption," Chairwoman Chynybaeva said.
